Young Philanthropists
Role Description
The Young Philanthropists are the next generation of citizens who make
"giving back" part of their lives through a theme of leadership,
friendship and philanthropy. This group is comprised of a cross section of
the community who find value in grantmaking to local charitable causes and
building permanent assets to address community needs. It is the intention
of the Young Philanthropists to not only build assets, but compassion,
knowledge and fellowship.
The role and responsibilities of members of Young Philanthropists are as
follows:
- Must be younger than 45 years of age kind of. This definition of "young"
may vary according to one's own definition and how young one might feel!
- Must make a minimum, annual contribution to the permanent endowment fund
of the Young Philanthropists, known as the "Future Fund". The minimum
contribution for 2006 is $250 per couple ($125 for an individual).
- Annually, some members of the Young Philanthropists may be called upon to
serve on the grantmaking, social or planning committees.
- From time to time, there will be social events for the Young
Philanthropists to learn about local issues, promote grantmaking, forge
leadership and build camaraderie amongst one another.
- Must be generous.
- Must be friendly.
- Must want to have fun.
