The twelve members of the Board of Directors of the Sangamon County
Community Foundation reflect a cross-section of the community. The
Board is ethnically and gender diverse. It has representation from
community and business leaders with long histories of volunteerism
and philanthropic support. SCCF benefits greatly from the collective
experience of this impressive group of community leaders.

Karen H. Pletsch, Chair - President of Hanson Information Systems, Inc. Ms. Pletsch has served on the Board of Directors of the Land of Lincoln Girl Scout Council; as an elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and as chair of Budget and Outreach Committees.

J. Michael Barker - President & COO of Springfield Electric
Supply Company Mr. Barker has served as President of the Williamsville School District #15 Board of Education, Contact Ministries Board of Directors, and Atonement Lutheran Church Council; and as Chairman of the National Association of Electrical Distributors Board of Directors.

Carolyn A. Blackwell –
Post Secondary Coach at Southeast High School
Mrs. Blackwell is a retired educator and Title I Administrator for Springfield
School District 186. She has
served as a Board member of the United Way, Memorial Foundation, Lincoln Land
Foundation, Springfield Community Federation, as well as on the Ball Charter and
Hope School Boards. |

Erich J. Bloxdorf - Executive Vice President of The Greater
Springfield Chamber of Commerce Mr. Bloxdorf has served as Chairman of
the Board of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Town and
Country Bank of Springfield and Town and Country Banc Mortgage Services, Inc.
and the Board of St. Agnes School; and as Treasurer of Springfield Urban League.

G. Virginia Conlee – Community Volunteer
Ms. Conlee is a former Peace Corps volunteer and educator and is retired from
the State of Illinois after serving 31 years in children’s services. She has
served as a board member of Senior Services of Central Illinois, as a trustee of
The Hope Institute Foundation, and is a past Chairman of the Board of The Hope
Institute for Children and Families. |

Kevin W. Crumly – Troxell Financial Advisors
Mr. Crumly is the senior wealth manager and co-founder of Troxell Financial
Advisors. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of
Certified Public Accounts, Estate Planning Council and the Greater Springfield
Chamber of Commerce. |

Susan S. Fairfield – Community Volunteer Mrs. Fairfield has a background in banking and retail. She has served as library trustee for the Chatham Area Public Library
and as Project Coordinator for the Library District’s Addition/Renovation; as board member and officer of Friends of Chatham Library Foundation; as board member of Ronald McDonald House Board; as committee chair and officer for Junior League of Springfield; and various positions with Ball-Chatham School District Committees and PTO Boards.

Katherine S. Germeraad –
Community Volunteer
Mrs. Germeraad has a background in education. She has served as a board member
of Friends of Memorial and on its Grant Committee; as a Board member of the
Springfield Art Association and State Museum Society Board; in various roles in
Parent Teacher Organizations within the Springfield
School District 186; and as an
elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and on its Personnel Committee. She
and her husband, Randy Germeraad, received the Kevin Lehman Award from
Springfield High School. |

Larry J. Johnson, Chairperson - Tax Manager

Mr. Johnson has served as President of SPARC (Springfield Association for
Retarded Citizens), Springfield Evening Lions Club and the Central Illinois
Planned Giving Council; a member of National Committee on Planned Giving Leave A
Legacy Committee; and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship of Rotary
International.

Saul J. Morse – Attorney
at Brown, Hay & Stephens
Mr. Morse has served as Vice Chair of the Board of United Cerebral Palsy Land of
Lincoln and chairs the Board of its subsidiary Housing Corporation. He is
Treasurer of Post-Polio Health International as well as a member of its Board.
He also serves of the Boards of The March of Dimes, Central Illinois Division,
Endowment of the Springfield Jewish Federation, and United Cerebral Palsy of
Illinois. He is a member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Council at the University
of Illinois at Springfield and is the
Treasurer of the City of Leland Grove. Until leaving in April 2008 he served as
Chair of the Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission. |

John C. Slayton - Vice President at U. S. Bank
Mr. Slayton has served on the Board for the State Farm Classic, St. John's
Hospital Foundation, the Illinois State Fair Board of Advisors, and Leadership
Springfield.

Lisa W. Stone - Community Volunteer Mrs. Stone is retired from Illinois Department of Public Health. She has served as President of the Springfield Children's Museum, the Springfield Jewish Federation, and the Springfield Public Schools Foundation; and as Chair of the United Jewish Communities National Funding Council/Combined Budgeting Council. She has served in many other civic and cultural roles in the community.

John G. Stremsterfer - Executive Director of
Sangamon County Community Foundation John is the first Executive Director of SCCF. He has also worked for the University of Illinois at Springfield and for the Illinois Governor's Office. John has served on the Board of Trustees for Springfield Ursuline Academy and on the Leadership Springfield Board of Directors.
