Continuum of Learning

Sangamon County's Community Foundation's Community Works Initiative. has joined forces with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Central Illinois to focus on improving Springfield's economic future through the Continuum of Learning Project.

The project focuses on education across the lifespan, from cradle to grave, and is crucial in keeping to keeping Springfield a growing, thriving community. This effort is expected to provide long-term benefits for the community in the effort to improve the area's economic future through education of its workforce and planning. The goal of this community partnership is to be sure that every resident of Sangamon County is "Ready to Learn. Ready to Work. Ready to Succeed."

The Continuum of Learning  is organized into 5 action teams:
Phase 1 Signing Up (Birth . Pre-K)
Phase 2 Starting Out (Grades K-5)
Phase 3 Getting Ready (Grades 6-12)
Phase 4 Taking Off (Post-Secondary)
Phase 5 Flying Well (Employee Development)
